Pullip Midori Fukasawa La Robe Vert Clair: Review

With her fabulously frilly dress and her stylish short curly bob, it was hard to resist Pullip Midori Fukusawa! How could I when she looked so much like royalty! Midori Fukusawa, along with Pullip Misako Aoki, is a Baby, the Stars Shine Bright collaboration doll and is made to resemble Baby model, Midori Fukusawa! She automatically became my favorite out of the two Baby dolls, though I still was set on buying both her and Pullip Misako! It seemed only right to get them together, and I don't regret that decision in the least!

Pullip Midori Fukusawa Comes With:

- Crown headpiece
- Pearl beaded necklace
- La Robe Vert Clair gown
- Removable sash
- Detachable bustle
- Two lace gloves
- White stockings
- A pair of white mary jane flats
- Pullip Midori Fukasawa's Trading Card
- Doll stand

Pros:

- Her faceup makes her look mature and sharp, but by no means harsh. It's a nice contrast in comparison to Pullip Misako Aoki's faceup, since Misako's eye shape is more rounded and has a slight droop to them, and Midori's are slightly less wide and have more of an angle. (The way their lashes and eye shadow were painted on seems to be the biggest difference between their faceups, that and Misako has more blush on her cheeks that is more pink and has slightly bolder pink lips than Midori.)
-  Her curly short wig is very cute and unique!
- No visible wig netting can be seen! (May vary from doll to doll.)
- Her wig has a nice scent to it, almost like it has been sprayed with perfume! It may seem a bit odd, but whenever I pass by her, I sometimes stop just to sniff her wig. (May vary from doll to doll.)
- All of her ribbons on her stock are sewn on well. (May vary from doll to doll)
- Her shoes seem to fit her better than Pullip Misako Aoki's shoes do.
- Type 4 body!
- No issues with eye mechs! (May vary from doll to doll.)

Cons:

- Her curls are pretty frizzy and not very easy to manage.
- The metal crown isn't sewn very well onto the ribbon that ties around her head. It's a bit loose. (May vary from doll to doll.)
- The crown is too heavy for the ribbon and can make the ribbon slide off from her head. It needs to be very securely fastened to keep it in place.
- Stock is made of very delicate and light material that can be easily damaged if not cared for properly. Also, it may have many loose threads hanging off of it that need to be trimmed.
- Her joints are a little stiff making her difficult to pose. (May vary from doll to doll.)

Neutral:

- Her dress isn't as accurate to the actual La Robe Vert Clair dress. It's close, but it doesn't come as close as Pullip Misako Aoki's dress does to the real Favorite Ribbon dress.
- Her bustle attaches onto the back of her dress the same way Misako's bow does. It doesn't cause any issues if she is just staying still, but it does come off easily if she's being moved around. It's recommended that you keep the bustle off of her if you plan on taking her somewhere so it doesn't get lost.
- She costs quite a bit, especially since she doesn't come with as much as Pullip Misako Aoki does. ( She's priced the same as Pullip Misako at $135 on pullipstyle.com.) However, her stock is very elaborate, and she doesn't cost as much as some other collaboration dolls, so I feel that it's justifiable enough.

The Verdict:

I hands down really love this doll! She looks very much like royalty and has an air of elegance about her! Out of all my dolls, she is certainly the most regal! I'm personally really happy that she is a part of my collection! If you are a fan of Baby, the Stars Shine Bright or happen to love Midori Fukusawa, by all means, get her! If you've been considering buying her, I urge you to do so! You will not be sorry for it!

Pullip Misako Aoki Favorite Ribbon: Review

Pullip Misako Aoki Favorite Ribbon is one of two dolls that are part of a collaboration with the well-known lolita brand, Baby, the Stars Shine Bright! She is also designed after the popular Japanese model, Misako Aoki! As one who has admired Baby's designs for many years now, I was excited over this doll as well as Pullip Midori Fukasawa La Robe Vert Clair! I really wanted both dolls, and so I bought them together as a set from none other than pullipstyle! They are the first dolls so far that I felt absolutely must be bought together as a pair! It just wouldn't seem right to get one without the other! (I'll be doing a review on Midori right after I finish this one!)

Pullip Misako Aoki Comes With:

- Red ribbon headband with dangling charms
- Favorite Ribbon dress
- Light pink stockings
- Detachable bow
- Red heeled Mary Jane shoes
- Pink nurse cap
-Pink nurse uniform
- Misako's trading card
- Doll stand

Pros:

- Cute faceup! Her eyes are bordered by lots of long lashes that make her eyes look big and round and slightly droopy, giving her a youthful appearance.
- She comes with two outfits!
- No wig netting peeking through! (May vary from doll to doll.)
- The wig itself is very manageable.
- Stock outfit is very accurate looking compared to the real Favorite Ribbon dress!
- Type 4 body
- Well-functioning eye mechs! (May vary from doll to doll.)
- Versatile and would look adorable in many different outfits and wigs!

Cons:

- The charms on her headband are heavy and cause the headband to fall off of her head even from the slightest of movements. It also tends to mess up her hair every time it falls, so you may find yourself having to fix it often.
- The metal heart charm also is not sewn on very well. It fell off even before I had opened the box and I had to stitch it back into place. (May vary from doll to doll.)
- The bow on her headband is a little lopsided. One side of the bow is bigger than the other and looks a little sloppy. (May vary from doll to doll.)
- The satin material her dress is made of can snag easily and can fray. Her sleeves are also made of thin material that can rip
- Wig cut unevenly. (I had to take a pair of scissors and even it out. This may vary from doll to doll.)

Neutral:

The bow in the back of her dress is detachable. It attaches onto it using a hook and a loop of thread. It falls off easily, but it doesn't bother me too badly, but I would advise removing it if you plan on taking her outside so you don't lose it.
- Her shoes are too big for her feet, but seem to stay on pretty well.
- A little expensive, priced at $135 on Pullip Style, but it's not so bad as she's a collaboration doll and comes with another outfit.

The Verdict:

This doll is extremely cute and does the real Misako Aoki justice! She really captures her girlish looks well! Her expression is also very sweet and gives her a playful and cheery look, which I absolutely love! Also, as I had previously stated, her stock is very accurate looking compared to the actual Favorite Ribbon dress! I really think that overall, Pullip Misako Aoki is worth getting! If you are a fan of Baby, the Stars Shine Bright or Misako Aoki herself, I would highly recommend buying this doll!

Garnet and Opal ( Pullip Misako and Pullip Midori) : Royal Sisters!

I'm so happy that I finally have pictures of both Garnet (Pullip Misako Aoki Favorite Ribbon) and Opal (Pullip Midori Fukasawa La Robe Vert Clair)! I had them in last week but I didn't have a camera so I just now had taken some pictures of them. I've decided to turn them both into princesses who live in a castle in Dream Land! Opal is the eldest of the two sisters and is very duty-bound and responsible. She carries herself with grace and elegance. She deeply loves her kingdom and will do anything to keep it safe from the Nightmares. Garnet is a bubbly girl who, unlike her sister, is very flighty and often thinks of marrying a handsome prince. She also likes to skip out on her lessons often to go out and play in the kingdom's garden square. Despite this, when Dream Land needs her, she is more than willing to step up and lend her aid.

Reviews for these two will be coming soon!
